Dordogne Dave

dry stone walling a speciality

Experienced builder for small building works and your diy projects.

With vast experience in property renovation, from planning permissions to the finishing touches, I can help you with all aspects of your project. I have been living in the Northern Dordogne for some years now and though semi-retired from big projects I can help you with all those thousand and one things that are involved in renovating or converting.

Do you need help with planning permissions?

Problems with the paper work for your septic tank?

Trouble getting a builder to do those odd jobs, those little diy projects because they're only really interested in the bigger projects?

Would you like your house repointed or a lovely stone wall built to add character and charm to your house? Does your patio or pool surround need cleaning?  With my Karcher I can make short work of that for you or any other jobs that need that sort of cleaning.

Gardening work, terrace building, get in touch with me, I know I can help you. I can also look after your salt water pool for you, do your tiling and generally sort all those little jobs you either can't or don't want to do.

And now thanks to my little yellow tipper I am available for disposal of garden waste, building rubble or to collect and/or deliver items you simply can't do yourself.  I can give you a quote for whatever you want done.

Thinking about the winter months, all those of you with the traditional logburner might be wondering how much of that precious heat is going to go up the chimney?  Well, probably quite a lot.  The solution is to fit a Register plate. custom made, easily installed and it will save about 30-50% of your heat loss.  Worth thinking about. New chimneys installed to help your fire draw better as well.

You can phone or e-mail to discuss your requirements, and you'll find my rates are very reasonable!  Let me help sort your problems and you can

Stop worrying about those things you can't/won't/don't want to do and let me do it for you.

The old 'fosse septic' looks like its had it's day.  microstations are now the new thing, quick and easy to install, less drainage, longer periods between emptying, - what's not to like.  Having installed one for myself I can give you any information you need to make a decision between digging up most of your land or just one large hole with a run-off.
